Summer Hair
Monday, 28 May 2012

For summer beach hair, the hair goddess title would hands down be crowned to ... Blake Lively.
I'm always envious of the natural tousled waves and I want it!
Parisian Chic
Je suis amoureux!
I'm so in love with the Parisian style right now.
I've picked some of my favourite looks from Jessica Alba, Leighton Meester, Blake Lively,
Clemence Poesy, Astrid Berges-Frisby and Olivia Palermo.
I think the thing that makes it work with them is the elegance and femininity they have.
WGFS 2012 Part 2
Sunday, 27 May 2012
Sleek black PVC and plastic capes, Meera Sharma shows an edgy dark side to the show.
Like clothes for the femina Dark Knight, the maxi effect creates a mysterious black atmosphere.
The next performance brightened the mood with the surprising entrance of a mature woman
prancing in a youthful manner. Everyone's face lit up in smiles immediately.
It was a playful collection by Annie Philips, and my favourite on that runway.
With silk cat-prints, alpaca boas and a retro feel, I can imagine Babs Margarita wearing this.
Marigold, fluorescent pink and lime green were the colours in this fun palette.
Models wore circular and fringed glasses, floral head ensembles and cute Tinkerbell flats.
It seemed very 30's.. shiny neon fabrics and embellished trousers.
It was truly a pleasure watching this!
Back to a modern fashion, Catherine Bell's all-white collection was very lovely.
It reminded me of something Acne would make.
I absolutely adored the oversized knits and flowy chiffon.
Elegant light dresses with cream white fur overgarments,
matched together with contrasting black converses.
Catherine Bell's collection was more abstract with pacific blue and orange panels
on nude on a cellular-like print. She experimented with different textures and materials.

Westminster Graduate Fashion Show 2012
Friday, 25 May 2012
Today I had front row seats to see Westminster's Graduate Show for the BA (Hons)
Fashion Design graduates of 2012.
Situated in a hidden underground space called Ambika P3,
a sleek black runway split the warehouse, and I, as oblivious as I am,
walked across it with muddy gladiators.
There goes my entrance.
The show started with a smoked entrance and out came these priestly-clothed models
in oversized jackets and dresses in turquoise, baby pink, yellow and tangelo orange panels.
Each one had unicorn heads with their tall zipped-up cone hats.
I've got to admit they do look powerful and full of authority.
A great opening from Hannah Duckworth.
Poppy Totman impressed me with the incredible detail and techniques used in her collection.
In simple white and pastel blue tones, the collection relies on the design and detail.
It was very feminine and pleasant, I would definitely fit myself into
the knots and twists of these beautiful pieces.
In contrast, Lucy Upsher literally knotted and twisted headpieces and body armour,
weaving grapefruit pink cords as if she was weaving a basket.
It was all well composed and complimented with photographic prints, covered by sheer ivory fabric.
It seemed as if she created her own culture of fashion.
Next came a cross between school girls and Dutch ladies, a feminine collection by Daphne Stylianou.
There were mini tartan skirts and plaid mid lengths, layered with a pure white apron of lace.
I liked the newspaper bonnets and the seducing hints of cherry red.
Still more to come
